Celebrity of the Day: Michelle Rodriguez
Hello.
So, I'm not sure if you know this, but today is Michelle Rodriguez's 42nd birthday.
Given that she's talented, and I actually knew her birthday, I decided to make a post about her.
Granted, I don't know as much as I do about Tricia Helfer, but I might as well give it a shot, right?
Michelle Rodriguez was born on July 12. 1978, in San Antonio, Texas.
She's known for her roles in Avatar, Fast and Furious, Girlfight, and LOST.
So, I was first introduced to her through Avatar [which I loved then, and still do, no matter what people say], where she plays the pilot, Trudy Chacon.
Most of you have probably heard of Avatar, and it's not a review, so I won't go into details, but, let's just say, I was impressed with her performance, and Trudy is probably my personal favorite Avatar character. So, yeah, if you've seen Avatar, give her some credit for the awesome job that she did.
If you've been reading my posts, you know that I've become a LOST fan, quite recently, which she also stars in.
Her character, Ana Lucia Cortez, is a former cop, and the leader of the 'tailies' aka the survivors of the tail section, and, again, she does a really good job.
It takes awhile to warm up to Ana Lucia [or Ana Lu-Lu, which is what Sawyer calls her], but then you realize, flaws aside, she really is a good person.
Of course, me being me, I loved her from the beginning.
Anyway, Ana Lucia is a very well-written character, and Michelle Rodriguez was the perfect actress to play her, in my opinion.
In addition to her impressive acting, Michelle Rodriguez does her own stunts. I have a high level of respect for actors who do their own stunts, and, some of her stunts would not be easy to do.
Also, an interesting detail I recently learned about her, is that she's interested in biology, and would spend hours talking to James Cameron [Avatar's director] about it, and she did lots of reading and self-education as an adult, to make up for poor schooling.
That's impressive, because if it were me, I'd probably be thinking 'yay, less school.'
Okay, now onto pictures, because she's also quite beautiful, and I may or may not have a bit of a crush on her [I still can't tell if it's her or her LOST character, but, eh, whatever].
So, who's your favorite Michelle Rodriguez charcter?
