Celebrity of the Day: Michelle Rodriguez

Image
Hello. So, I'm not sure if you know this, but today is Michelle Rodriguez's 42nd birthday. Given that she's talented, and I actually knew her birthday, I decided to make a post about her. Granted, I don't know as much as I do about Tricia Helfer, but I might as well give it a shot, right? Michelle Rodriguez was born on July 12. 1978, in San Antonio, Texas. She's known for her roles in Avatar, Fast and Furious, Girlfight, and LOST. So, I was first introduced to her through Avatar [which I loved then, and still do, no matter what people say], where she plays the pilot, Trudy Chacon. Most of you have probably heard of Avatar, and it's not a review, so I won't go into details, but, let's just say, I was impressed with her performance, and Trudy is probably my personal favorite Avatar character. So, yeah, if you've seen Avatar, give her some credit for the awesome job that she did. If you've been reading my posts, you know that I've...

The Rip it or Ship it Tag

Helloooooo. So I've seen this tag go around the blogosphere a lot, so I thought, why not do it? I kind of bent the rules, though. Here's what I did. -Put the names of 15 book characters in a shoe [yes, I really did use a shoe] -Put the names of 15 movie/TV characters in another shoe -Shook it up, and picked one out of each -Figured out if they would make a good match and either ship them or rip them So, let's get started Kyle Smith [My Untitled Book] and Wanda Maximoff [The Avengers So, um, this one will be interesting. Kyle is a very goofy guy who loves to mess around, and is the comic relief/audience surrogate in my book. Wanda has a lot of emotional issues, she has superpowers, and a ton of horrible things happen in her life. I think Kyle would want to be with someone more fun and lighthearted, and Wanda would want to be with someone more sensitive. I rip it. Lena Kaligaris [The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants] and Claire Littleton [LOST] So, again, thi...

The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls [Book Review]

Image
Genres: YA, contemporary Length: 312 pages Author: Jessica Spotswood Summary: This summer is going to be life-changing for the four Garrett sisters, and they will end up surprising both themselves and everyone else. Des, the oldest has been the boring, responsible one since their Grandma had her knee replacement. Des doesn't mind helping, but she'd like to make some changes, and have time to work on her art. Then she meets Paige, who's staying in their small town for the summer. Des starts hanging out with her, in awe of her punk style, and artistic talent, but everyone says Paige is a bad influence. That can't be true, can it? Bea has her life all together: she has a boyfriend who she plans on marrying, she's interning as a journalist, and she's going to Georgetown in the fall. The only problem is Bea's not sure she wants any of that. She's always been the ambitious planner, so what's she supposed to do when she doesn't know what sh...

LOST Season One Review

Image
So, here's the review I promised you all. I've had a major struggle finding a new show to watch [I mean, I finished Firefly, then Warehouse 13 before that, and Longmire before that], so what show could compete with any of those? Answer: Lost Rating: TV-14 Genres: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi/Fantasy Creators: J.J Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber, Damon Lindelof Cast: Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly, Naveen Andrews, Emilie de Ravin, Jorge Garcia, Maggie Grace, Ian Somerhalder, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Terry O'Quinn, Dominic Monaghan, Harold Perrineau, Malcolm David Kelley, Summary: When their plane crashes on a mysterious island, forty-eight survivors must figure out a way to fend for themselves, while they wait for someone to rescue them, while strange things keep happening on the island. My Thoughts: So I really, really, really liked LOST. As in, there were some days where I just wanted to sit and keep watching episodes 'till I finished the show. Of course...
