Recommending Media Based On Your Favorite Jane Austen Book

Image
Hello everyone! I have a question for you: Are you a Jane Austen fan? If so, I thought I'd give you some recommendations based on your favorite Jane Austen book. You don't have to have read all of her books-----or even any of them------if you like a movie adaptation, that's totally cool, too. Or, even if you're not an Austen fan, you could just take this as a list of recommendations. So, let's get started.  Sense and Sensibility If you're a fan of Sense and Sensibility, I assume that you really like stories with sisters since Elinor and Marianne's relationship is a big part of the book. I also assume that you're very character-driven and relationship driven, and you don't mind stories being a tiny bit preachy. So, for you, I'd recommend...... Now, if you're into classic literature, you've probably already read this one, but, if you haven't, I'd recommend it. It's one of the most famous sister stories, and the relationships be

The Smashing and Dashing 2022 Character Awards

Hello!  I'm back and with a tag. Technically you're supposed to do this tag near the end of the year, but I was sick at the tail end of 2022, so I decided to do it now. This fun little tag was created by  C.G Drews , and I cannot remember where I found it, but I thought it would be fun to do.  This year's winners are..... #1. Most Relatable Character Vi Garrett from The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls by Jessica Spotswood. She's a bookish, mildly awkward fangirl who writes fanfiction and is perpetually confused by people saying that she's brave for being herself because that's all she really knows how to do. All of the Garrett sisters were relatable for me, to an extent, but Vi was definitely the most relatable.  #2. Most Pure Animal Companion Doomslug from Starsight and Cytonic by Brandon Sanderson. She's not really an animal-----she's more of a strange creature, but she plays the role of a pet in these books.  #3. Fiercest Fighter Daniela from The Wi

My Top Ten Books of 2022

Hello everyone! As I'm sure you're all well aware of, 2022 is over, and it is now 2023, which is crazy to me. I branched out a lot in 2022, when it comes to reading. I read a wide variety of books, not just YA fiction. I read comic books and graphic novels, classics, adult books, and even some middle grade books and------most surprisingly of all-----nonfiction. I've never been a big nonfiction reader, but this year I branched out and......actually enjoyed a good portion of them. I definitely recommend trying some things out of your comfort zone because you might actually find a new favorite [or discover that you hate a genre, which is still useful]. So, for this list, I'll just be listing books that I read for the first time this year, and, while I did enjoy these rereads, I didn't read these books for the first time this year, so I won't be counting them. Also, this list isn't in any particular order.  #1: New Women in the Old West by Winifred Gallagher Th

December Recap + 2022 Recap

Well, folks. We're at the very end of 2022, which I genuinely cannot believe. The end of the year/new year always makes me kind of anxious, so let's get into the recap.  What I Read in December What I Watched in December December Makeup Looks I've basically made a new category. I hope you all don't mind.  What I Did in December A lot. I did a LOT this December.  -First, my mom's birthday is at the beginning of December, so we went out to go shopping at a craft store she wanted to go to and out to lunch. It was very good.  -Also, my siblings and I made gingerbread houses and we made Christmas cookies. -A bunch of Christmas stuff in general.  -I did a little bit more writing for a new WIP and I had a Writer's Group meeting.  -I had martial arts a few times this month.  -Christmas! It was a pretty good celebration this year. We opened some presents on Christmas Eve, then ate a bunch of junk food and watched The Polar Express. The next day we had a big group lunch w
