A Mini-Tribute to Winona Ryder

Image
So, today is Winona Ryder's 50th birthday [which I didn't know until earlier this week when my dad and I were looking up various different things about Stranger Things], and I really like a lot of her different roles, plus 50 is a pretty significant birthday, hence this post. I also genuinely think that she's a very talented actress, as well as just someone that I like a lot. I mean, she's talented, she's pretty, and, in interviews, she always comes off as very intelligent [in kind of a wise way] and very sweet. Basically, in this post,  I'll be talking about each character that I've seen her play, and what I think she brought to the role that was just kind of special.  So, let's get started on the post. The order of the characters on this list are just based on when I saw that specific show/movie, not which came out first. Just so we're clear.  Lydia Deetz, Beetlejuice If someone were to make a list of iconic Goth girls in fiction, Lydia would defi

Ivy  nominated me for this. Thank you! What is your favorite book/series and why? Um......I have too many favorites. Do you want a complete list? Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Raven Cycle, Queens of Geek, The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls, Howl's Moving Castle, Lovely War, Annie on My Mind, Death on The Nile, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, The Girls I've Been, The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue and The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, and a lot more.  Who is your favorite author? I have a lot. Tess Sharpe might be my favorite, at the moment. She's an excellent writer. I love her protagonists, and I love the very raw and honest way that she writes.  Um, Rick Riordan has a lot of really great books. Jane Austen is also a favorite of mine, as well as Maggie Stiefvater. Jessica Spotswood is someone else that I really like.  What is your favorite food? Pizza! Pizza so much. I'm always in the mood for it, and there&#

Halloween Book Tag

Image
Hello, everyone! Halloween is so close now, and I wanted to do another Halloween-related post, so I present to you....the Halloween book tag [found on the blog  Favorite Scary [Must Read] Book For Halloween? I don't really read scary books very often, but I think that Dracula is kind of a must-read for Halloween. It's a little slow, but it's a classic for a reason. Scariest Book Cover, Like, Ever? Mmmm......I'm not sure. The cover of As I Descended is a little spooky.  If You Could Go Trick-or-Treating With Any Author, Who Would You Pick? Oh, that's hard. Ummm......maybe Rick Riordan. He seems like a fun guy. Or maybe Marissa Meyer.  If You Could Dress Up As Any Bookish Character, Who Would You Be? Yet another hard one. I think I'd like to dress up as Spensa from Skyward. I feel like it would be fun to re-create her flight outfit. If You Could Find Anything [From Any Book] In Your Trick-or-Treating Stash, What Would You Hope To Find? Well, this is a very nerdy

Assumptions About Me

Image
Hello there, friends.  So, I remember this was a big trend awhile ago where people would ask their followers for their assumptions about them [anything from favorite food to favorite color to biggest fear], and then the blogger/YouTuber would answer them.  Well, that's what I'm doing today. Comment down below what you assume about me, whether it's easy to assume or not, and then, in a few weeks, I'll answer if it's true or not.  Have fun.

Explaining Myself Through GIFs Of My Favorite TV Shows

Image
Hello! It's been awhile since I've done one of these, but, a few months ago [apparently, it was last December, which is almost a year ago? What?], I did a post like this, but just with Riverdale GIFs. This time, I'll be describing my personality, emotions and opinions about things with GIFs from my favorite TV shows. So, let's get into it. #1: When I First Finish A Writing Project Whenever I finish anything writing-related, I feel like I'm on top of the world! I'm this super-cool professional writer.  #2: And Then I Realize It's An Absolute Mess That Needs To Be Seriously Edited Why didn't anyone tell me that this whole thing is a huge mess? #3: Whenever I Get Really Obsessed With A New Fandom I care way, way, way, way too much about pretty much everything. #4: When I'm Trying To Avoid Seeing Spoilers Online I don't think I really need to explain this one. You either read spoilers, or you avoid them like the plague. #5: When A New Book I've

My Ten Favorite TV Halloween Specials

Image
Halloween is really, really close, and I'm so excited for it! I've got my costume picked out and everything. Halloween movies are really great, but I also really like Halloween specials in different TV shows. Below are ten of my favorites.  #10: Pretty Little Liars: This Is A Dark Ride While This Is A Dark Ride wouldn't make my top ten or top five PLL episodes list, it's still a solid episode. In it, the girls decide to dress up as classic movie characters, and go on a Halloween-themed ghost train. Of course, since this is PLL, A ends up attacking Aria, and locking her in a box on the edge of the train. Hanna, Emily and Spencer have to rescue her before she actually dies. Meanwhile, Hanna's mom entertains a creepy little girl at her house.  This episode just has all of the spooky vibes, which is perfect for Halloween. Plus, it sets up a lot of suspense [which would be even better if they had done a better job explaining some of this, but I'm not here to complai
