July Recap

Image
Hey, friends! So it's been awhile. I didn't realize how badly I needed a hiatus. It took until I had pretty much no ideas before I took an actual break. So, July was a pretty good month. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't a bad month. Books I Read in July Movies/Shows I Watched in July Season 3 and part of Season 4 I'm thinking that, at this point, I really need to do a review of what I've seen so far. Let me know if you'd like to see that. Season Two and part of Season Three My dad bought a DVD set with all seven seasons, so we've all been re-watching it! It's such a fun show, and I adore it. My family and I finally finished Community! I prefer the earlier seasons, but some of the later seasons are really good, too. Events of July -I got some more writing done! I'm now about halfway through my WIP [I think. It may end up being longer or shorter]. -A lot of my mom's family visited this month, and we visited a lot of places. It was fun, but a l

Music I've Been Listening To Recently

Image
Hi everyone! Today's post is pretty short. I've been listening to a lot of music recently, and I thought I'd share some of my favorites. Summer Nights [Glee Cast Version] I mean, first of all, it just reminds me of summer. Secondly, I first started watching Glee around this time last year, so I think nostalgia is a factor for why I've been listening to it. And, also, it's just a great duet. Monsters and Fairies-Savannah I feel like she isn't a very well-known singer, which is sad because she's so talented. I love so much of her music, but this song might be my favorite of hers. It has such a powerful message.  Nowhere To Be Found, Fingertips and I'll Never Know-Savannah These two are also great songs. She has a lot of other great songs, but these are the ones I've been listening to the most. Also, I love her style! Her hair is absolutely amazing.  Girls Like Girls-Hayley Kiyoko Okay, so the music video isn't linking for whatever reason, but you

The Sunshine Blogger Award

The rules -Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog -Answer all the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you -Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions -List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your blog post Jani's Questions: What is the worst movie you've ever watched? Ehhhhhh, I'm not sure. I tend to like most of the movies I watch. I mean, I wouldn't say it's the worst, but I'm not a huge fan of High School Musical. They're not bad movies, per se, just not my thing. What's your favourite food? Pizza. I'm very basic, apparently. Do you like the horror genre [in books, shows, movies]? I haven't really read or watched much in the way of horror, so I don't know. I guess Stranger Things is as close as I'v

May and June Book Reviews

Image
*comes zooming in on roller skates and crashes into a wall* Greetings, friends! After realizing that I have A LOT of thoughts about the books that I've read so far these past few months, I decided to make a review post [also, this will be pretty long because it's about 12-13 books put together, so feel free to leave and get snacks if needed]. So, I'll give a brief summary of each book, my rating, and my thoughts on each one.  Books I Read In May Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli Summary: Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly-gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn't play wingman for class clown, Martin, his sexuality will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he's been emailing, will be compromised.  With some messy dynamic

Pretty Little Liars Season One

Image
Alright, let me just say, first of all, that the show is better than the book. So, Pretty Little Liars. You've probably heard of it at some point. It was a pretty big deal when it was running, and a lot of people watched it. The show was based on a series of books, and I reviewed the first few  here  [spoiler alert: I didn't have a very high opinion of them]. After getting HBO Max to watch Doctor Who, and seeing that Pretty Little Liars was on there, I decided to give it a try [mostly so I could make a book vs. TV show post on it]. Alright, let's get started. Cast: Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse, Holly Marie Combs, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Chad Lowe, Keegan Allen, Tammin Sursok, Tyler Blackburn, Bianca Lawson Creator: I. Marlene King Rating: TV-14 Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Drama Summary: Four friends band against an anonymous foe who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets, while also investigating the disappearance of thei

Running Wild in Impractical Outfits Tag

Hello!  Elizabeth  tagged me for this, and I've been super excited about filling it out. Thank you so much! The Rules -Put a link to her blog,  Autumn Ink - Put a link to your post in the comments section of the original post -Tag people if you want to -Have fun with this tag, and feel free to add things, change locations, or whatever you want -The outfits you choose can be from anywhere you like [movies, books, TV shows, real life, etc.], and they can be as practical or as impractical as you want. Choose with as much flagrant disregard or custom for the rules as you choose.  -You have to bring a different fictional character of your choosing to each location. At The Beach Well, if I were at the beach, I'd probably want to wear a swimsuit, wouldn't I?  I'm not really sure what specific type of swimsuit I'd like, though. Probably just something similar to what I have.  This one is just a picture of a model, but I like the style. I would wear something like this. And
