June Recap

Image
The fact that it's already halfway through the year just shocks me. Like, where did the time go?  I, personally, had a really good June. What about you all? Books I Read in June All of these were excellent! I highly recommend them. I miiight make a post where I review all the books I read in May and June, so keep a look-out for that. Movies/TV Shows I Watched In June It was so good! I had high expectations, which it lived up to. Definitely deserves the hype. This one was fun! The casting was perfect, and it was entertaining. I also find it incredibly entertaining that two of the actresses in this movie were in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Events of June -I am now fully vaccinated! I just felt slightly tired after the first shot, but the second shot  was way worse. It wasn't too horrible, but I definitely didn't feel like doing anything besides watching TV.  -I have twin sisters, and their birthday is in June, so celebrating that was fun. Especially since they wanted to go to

Hamilton: An Extremely Late Review

Image
So, a few weeks ago, I finally saw Hamilton, and I have thoughts about it. Hence this post. Creator: Lin-Manuel Miranda Cast: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, Anthony Ramos, Leslie Odom Jr., Renee Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Okieriete Onaodown Rating: PG-13, if you watch it on Disney +.  Genre: Historical musical. My Thoughts:  I came very late to the Hamilton craze [yet again. I feel like that happens with most fandoms that I'm in]. I only listened to the soundtrack last year, and only just watched it. I'm really glad that I did, though. It was fun. What I Liked: -The music The songs in Hamilton are all so good, and super catchy. I think it says a lot about the quality of the musical that my mom [who isn't a fan of hip-hop or musicals] really enjoyed it. Some of my favorite songs were ''Guns and Ships'', ''Burn'', ''Satisfied'', ''My Shot'', '

The Julie and the Phantoms Book Tag

Image
Greetings! I'm really excited for today's post, because Rachel nominated me for the Julie and the Phantoms Book Tag [which she created herself. Aren't the questions great?]. I mean, Julie and the Phantoms and books. What could be better? Rules -Link back to the original creator -Use the graphic, if you'd like -Answer the questions below -And tag some friends Alright, let's get started. Now or Never-A Recent Favorite Read That would be These Witches Don't Burn. I have a few issues with it, but, overall, I really enjoyed it. Also, that cliffhanger was INSANE. I need to read the next book, like, now . Wake Up-A Book That Surprised You What If It's Us by Becky Abertali and Adam Silvera. I.....didn't expect that ending [maybe I should've? Was there foreshadowing there that I didn't get?]. Bright-A Book That Lights You Up SO. MANY. I think I'll go with The Last Summer of The Garrett Girls. There are lots of books I love, but this is one that just

The 5 Things Tag

Image
Greetings, fellow humans! So, today I felt like doing an easy post, so I'm doing a tag. I stole this from  Katie's  blog [it's from, like, two years ago, so I don't think she'll mind].  It's a pretty simple idea: There are six sets of five things. It's simple, but immsensely satisfying.  So, let's get started.  Five Things You'll Find In My Purse This is my purse, by the way. I love it because it's purple, and because it's actually big enough to fit things in. As in, I can fit my tablet and a book in there.  1: My wallet 2: Lip balm 3: Travel-sized lotion 4: Hand sanitizer 5: This weird Thinking Putty thing my aunt got for me. Five Things You'll Find in My Bedroom 1: This giant collage that I made last fall that has all of my favorite things at the time on it. 2: My jewelry box. 3: A jar filled with water and little stones. 4: Books. 5: A set of Willow and Tara action figures from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Five Things I've Always Wan

Six Books With LGBTQIA+ Characters That You Should Add to Your TBR

Image
Greetings, friends! So, June is Pride Month, and yet I haven't done any posts on it yet. I have one that's about writing LGBTQIA+ characters well, but that's sort of long and involved, so I'm starting with this.  This isn't really in any specific order, and they vary in genre quite a bit, so some books may appeal to you, and some might not. OK, onto the actual post. Disclaimer: All summaries are taken from Goodreads.  #1: These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling Summary: Hannah's a witch, but not the kind you're thinking of. She's the real deal, an Elemental with the power to control fire, earth, water, and air. But even though she lives in Salem, Massachusetts, her magic is a secret she has to keep to herself. If she's ever caught using it in front of a Reg [read: non-witch], she could lose it. For good. So, Hannah spends most of her time avoiding her ex-girlfriend [and fellow Elemental Witch], Veronica, hanging out with her best friend, and
