Hey, people! Today I’ll be reviewing Legally Blonde! This is one of my [many] all-time favorite movies, starring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods. The movie is about a stereotypical dumb blonde [Elle], who’s boyfriend dumps her because he’s going to Harvard and he wants more to date more ‘’serious’’ girls, so Elle decides to go to Harvard and win him back. Then at Harvard, when everyone starts discriminating her, Elle decides to prove she’s just as good as them.
Let me just start by saying I absolutely love Elle’s character! She’s very feminine, peppy, seems very dumb, insanely girly and fashionable and she’s so smart and such a great friend. She’s probably one of the most unique and entertaining female characters ever.
I’m not usually a fan of romantic comedies [too much fluff, not enough action] but this one was awesome! Not only do I love Elle but the plot was good, I laughed a lot and this movie has some of the best GIFs ever.
See? Legally Blonde GIFs are legit the best.
I also loved the feminism. While Elle is very feminine, she’s smart and fights back against sexism. This movie was feminist, without overdoing it.
I also really liked the acting. As an actor myself, good actors in a movie is very important. Reese Witherspoon was an amazing lead and she is one of my favorite actors. I know Selma Blair was in it and both Linda Cardenelli and Jennifer Coolidge had small parts. I have no idea who the rest of the cast was but they were all very good.
All-in-all Legally Blonde is a very fun movie to watch and I would rate it 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. Now, I’m rating this based on the type of movie it was, so if you like romantic comedies, you’ll probably like this. However, I’m not normally a rom-com fan and I found it enjoyable. It’s rated PG-13, so if you’re under 13 you’d probably want to get a parent’s permission before seeing it. Legally Blonde is on Netflix, I believe, and that’s where my family watched it.
But wait! I can’t end this review without showing you one of Elle’s most inspiring quotes [just like all the rest of the ones I put in here ‘cause I’m so good at choosing favorites]!
Okay, that’s all for now. Have you seen Legally Blonde? Do you want to?
I've never seen the movie. I probably should. Some of those gifs looked incredibly funny.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen legally Blonde, but it looks interesting, and Reese Witherspoon is in it (she's one of my favorite actors along with....many others.) And also I love Feminist movies that are showing that women can do as amazing things as men, (such as Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, etc.)
ReplyDeleteso it would be neat to add another one to my list of movies about strong women. :)

Yes, I think you both would like it. Reese Witherspoon is a great actress and the movie is very funny. I love Wonder Woman! I haven't seen Captain Marvel yet, is it good?
ReplyDeleteCaptain Marvel was amazing (at least in my opinion), Brie Larson did such a good job acting as Carol. :) And the plot was awesome, so I would definitely recommend watching it.

I am a minority here on "Wonder Woman" but I saw it in theaters, and I didn't like it. I just found it really slow and boring. Of course, everyone has different tastes, but I didn't see the appeal. I know many do, but I was just praying to God for the movie to be over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling me, Q. I'll see if I can watch it, hopefully sooner rather than later. I've seen some of the trailers before and Brie Larson seems like a good actress. I'll add it to my TBW (to be watched) list.
ReplyDeleteYes, of course everyone has different tastes. There have been some VERY popular movies that I just didn't care for.
