10 Easy Ways To be More Eco-Friendly
10 Easy Ways To Be Environmentally Friendly In Your Everyday Life
Hi, everyone! I have quite a bit of spare time so I may post a few videos or post on my doll blog, we’ll see. Anyway, the Internet is giving me trouble so I will not be able to post pictures today. Onto the post. Now, the environment is in danger, and the problem is only going to get worse if we ignore it. We still have plenty of time to save it, and here are 10 Easy Ways to be more environmentally friendly.
1: Recycle
Most cities offer recycling, and if not you could try checking out a recycling center. You can recycle paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and aluminum.
2: Take a Cold Shower
I don’t mean it has to necessarily be a freezing cold shower [though I’ve done that a few times in the summer] but a barely warm or lukewarm shower is actually better for the environment, since hot water takes more energy to make. If it’s super cold where you live and you need to take a hot shower just please try and make it really fast.
3: Turn off any lights/faucets/unplug cords when not in use
This is a super easy one you’ve probably all heard before. If you’re not in a room turn off the lights. If you’re not actively using water turn it off. If something isn’t charging, unplug it.
4: Buy Locally
Despite the fact that veganism and vegetarinism are healthy if you buy expensive, imported fruits it’s way less environmentally friendly then buying meat at a local store made there. This can be a bit tricky, so I guess just try not to eat a ton of imported food.
5: Go Thrifting
Environmentally-friendly clothing made with non-toxic dye is really an amazing thing. However, it also tends to be on the more expensive side. So, what if you want to be environmentally friendly but you’re broke? Buy clothes, shoes, books, toys, WHATEVER from a thrift store. Now, of course you may not be able to do this all the time but it’s still fun and cheap.
6: Buy Things With Recycled/Recyclable Packaging
WHY DID I PUT THIS AS ‘EASY’?! Okay, a bit more difficult [gee, ya think, McKayla?] but most things that you can recycle have the recycle symbol or says it’s made from recycled packaging.
7: Look Into Clean Energy
I’m pretty sure there’re companies that use clean energy to power phones, TVs, and anything battery operated. There are also clean lightbulb companies, water companies, etc. etc. Something I have done a very bad job of doing but hopefully after this post I will actually look into getting it or trying to convince my family we should.
8: Buy The Organic Version
There are organic makeup companies, clothing lines, shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soap lines, and lots more. Most of these don’t cost any more than the regular version [except maybe the clothes].
9: Plant a Tree
A tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide in it’s lifetime. Soooooo, just go, and plant a tree.
10: Spread The Word
Tell other people about this list, and about global warming. Look up more ways to stay green online. Tell your family, post about it on your blog, just get it out there.
Was this list helpful? Should I make more posts like this? What are some other ways I should try to be more eco-friendly?
luke warm water is very good for your skin/ hair. Even if I take a hot shower, I usually try to run cold water on myself right before getting out. I like to make a lot of my clothes, but thrift stores are fun, too ;D

Thanks for commenting. Yes, I heard steaming hot water ages you faster or something. Oh, that's so cool that you make your own clothes.
