Series Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

Hi. I recently finished reading the To All the Boys I've Loved Before series. I read the first one last December, and thought it was good, but never got around to finishing the series. This month I decided to reread it, and then  read the other two books in the series. If you haven't heard of it, the To All the Boys series is a YA contemporary series written by Jenny Han. It's about a sixteen-year-old girl named Lara-Jean, who's taking over the responsibilities of the house since her older sister, Margot, is headed off to college. She's a very sentimental girl who, in the past, wrote a letter to every boy she's ever loved, in order to get over her crush. Then all of those letters, which she's kept hidden, get sent out, and chaos follows.
These are just my thoughts on each of the books in the series.
Book One: To All the Boys I've Loved Before
-This book starts out on a really nice note. Like, Lara-Jean's sister is going to college [in Scotland], and Lara-Jean's nervous about that. I liked how it started with the sister relationships instead of the romance.
-The fact that Lara-Jean's mother died is generally a bit overused, but here it's done really well.
-I really don't like Josh. I don't know why. He just annoys me, and I think he's kind of a flat character.
-Gen is also suuuuuper annoying, but that was the point of her character.
-I love lara Jean as a character. Her voice felt really unique, and she seemed like a real person.
Also, she's 1000000% a Hufflepuff [which I am not, but it's always cool to see some more 'Puff representation.]

-The sisters.
I'm a kid from a family of three sisters, so that was nice. I know a lot of people think Kitty s annoying, but I actually like her.  I mean, how could you have TATBILB without Kitty?
--Baking. Lara Jean loves to bake, so this book talks about baked goods a LOT. It made me hungry.
-I do like Peter K. He seems like a cool guy [for the most part.]
-I think this is the best book in the series, but it could just be nostalgia reasons.
The next one in the series is P.S I Still Love You.
-First of all, Jamie Fox-Pickle is the best, and so adorable. He shows up at the end of the last book, but he plays a much bigger role in this one. And he's sooooo cute [leave it to me to end up loving Kitty's pet dog].
-Margot kind of annoyed me near the end of the last book, but I really liked her in this one.
-John Ambrose McClaren is just so nice
-Lara Jean is even more sentimental than I thought.
-I liked Trina Rothschild as a character. She had a tiny partin the first book, but her role is so much bigger here.
-I loved how Kitty and Lara Jean were trying to set their dad up with Trina. It's a commonly used trope, but one that never fails to make me laugh.
-Their dad is actually a good dad. I know in lots of books they make the dad seem bumbling and clueless, but here he's a really good parent.
-Gen is just a terrible person. I know she has a reason for being upset, but she doesn't have to be such a huge jerk about it.
-I didn't like Peter in this book. He was putting Gen's feelings above Lara Jean's, and she had every right to be upset.
-I did like the ending, and this was a really good book.
The third in final book is Always and Forever Lara Jean.
-This one is all about changes. I mean, they all are, but especially this one.
-Peter's gone back to being nice.
-At the beginning, at least.
-Later he started being a jerk.
-I feel like Kitty's gotten a lot more mature in this book.
-Just reading about Lara Jean trying to make the perfect chocolate-chip cookie makes me hungry.
-It was nice to see John again. I liked him.
-Oh, Margot's back. Yay. Even though she's being a bit of a jerk.
-THE ENDING AHHHH!
-I do really love this book, but I think it's my least favorite of the series.
So, I would definitely recommend this series. It has a few bad words, and some content, but nothing much (I think it would be PG-13 if it was a movie). It's a pretty popular series, so you've probably heard of it before. It's very well-written.

Have you read To All the Boys I've Loved Before? Do you want to?
