The Fandom Tag
I stole this from Skye [well, stole with permission] because it looked like fun, and I'm a part of many fandoms that I wanted to talk about.
What's the first fandom you remember becoming apart of?
It was either Harry Potter or The Chronicles of Narnia.
It was either Harry Potter or The Chronicles of Narnia.
As I mentioned in this, my dad read me the first book when I was six, and I loved it. I read The Chamber of Secrets the following year, and that's when I really became obsessed. I acted out the stories with my dolls all the time, pretended that I went to Hogwarts, and played Quidditch with my siblings [as best as we could, since we didn't have flying brooms].
I read [or had it read to me. I don't remember which] The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when I was around the same age, and I pretended that my parents' massive closet was Narnia. When I was ten and was visiting my aunt, I was ecstatic to find out that she had an actual wardrobe in her house, and spent the rest of that day playing Narnia. Even now, when I see a wardrobe I get excited.
What's the newest fandom you've come to enjoy?
Recently, I've been watching [and obsessing over] Stranger Things.
Recently, I've been watching [and obsessing over] Stranger Things.
It took me five years to join in on the hype, but I think my level of obsession has made up for that. Not only are the characters amazing, and it's a fun show to watch, but it's really well-made. The cinematography is great, the actors all bring their A-game, and it's really well-written, too. I cannot recommend this show enough.
What's a fandom guaranteed to give you feels?
This so hard because so many of them do.
This so hard because so many of them do.
Probably either Little Women or Anne of Green Gables/Anne With An E.
Period dramas, guys. They're the masters of feels.
Certain Jane Austen books and Tim Burton movies can give me feels, too, if I'm in the right mood.
Actually pretty much anything if I'm in the right mood.
What's a guilty pleasure fandom of yours?
Maybe Riverdale?
I'll be the first to admit that it's not all that well-written, but I still really like the first two seasons.
What's the weirdest fandom you've heard of/are apart of?
Weirdest as in the book/movie/show/musical itself is really weird or weird as in the community surrounding it is really weird?
If it's the first, then definitely Community.

The entire show is pretty much parodies and/or weird things happening. Which is why I love it.
WandaVision is pretty weird, too. Again, that's probably why I love it.
In terms of fandom community, aren't they all a little weird? I mean, fangirls/fanboys spend a lot of time thinking about the lives about fictional characters, decide who we think they should end up with romantically, spend inordinate amounts of time writing stories about and drawing pictures of these characters and blogging about them and naming our pets after them, etc.
Favorite popular/widely known fandom?
Either the MCU [or just Marvel in general. I like the comics, too], Harry Potter, Stranger Things or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Putting this here because there have been no Buffy GIFs in this post so far, which is a tragedy.
I also really like lots of Disney movies and popular musicals [Hamilton, Heathers, Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, Six, you get the picture].
Favorite bookish fandom?
Either Percy Jackson or The Lunar Chronicles. Also, anything by Jane Austen [I'm in the middle of Mansfield Park, and I actually really like it, despite the fact that it's her least popular novel.I love Fanny Price].
What do you consider your home base, a fandom you can always come back to?
Well, this one's easy.
Well, this one's easy.
Definitely Glee.
This GIF looks so weird out-of-context.
Make fun of me all you want to, but I love this show and have re-watched the first three seasons, er, let's just say a lot I may or may not have lost track of exactly how many times I've watched it, which is a little scary, so we won't focus on that.
It's definitely not for anyone, but if you like musicals and quirky or goofy shows then I highly recommend the first three seasons [the later seasons aren't nearly as good].
What's a fandom you know all about.....but aren't actually into it?
I'm not really sure. I'm in a lot of fandoms. If something doesn't interest me, I tend to forget about it.
Which fandom has the best characters?
I have to pick one???? No fair. *pouts*

So, pretty much everything I've already mentioned, and also Warehouse 13.
I love all of the main characters [and several of the side-characters] on that show. It's sad that it's not more well-known. If you have seen Warehouse 13, let me know in the comments, and I'll love you forever.
Name your all-time favorite ship?
One?! That's ridiculous and impossible and insane and ridiculously impossibly insane.
One?! That's ridiculous and impossible and insane and ridiculously impossibly insane.
I do really like one from my novella [it's a fanfiction novella, so it counts]. I've always thought they had good chemistry, but I definitely didn't ship them as much as I do now.
I've also always liked Brittany and Santana from Glee.
There's a reason why I re-watch Glee so much, and we all know it ain't Rachel.
What's a fandom you're curious about joining?
Um...a lot. And I'm having trouble remembering them right now.
Um...a lot. And I'm having trouble remembering them right now.
I've heard lots of good things about The Vampire Diaries, so I might give that a shot.
If you've seen the show, do you think I would like it?
I also want to see a bunch of the live-action DC shows because I don't know nearly as much about DC as I do about Marvel, and that is a tragedy that needs to be rectified.
Oh! And I also want to see Doctor Who at some point.
That's all for this tag. I'm tagging.....
That's all for this tag. I'm tagging.....
Becky
Phoenix
May
Quinley
Merie
And anyone else who wants to do it, but hasn't been tagged yet.
So, let's talk. What fandoms are you part of? Are we in any of the same fandoms? In fact, let's just talk about fandoms. Cuz that's fun.
Bye for now.
Ooo such good ones! I think you would like Vampire Diaries, I mean it's hard not to cuz Damon is hilarious and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCommunity is really weird in the best way. I should've picked it for that category. XD
Thanks! And thanks for letting me do the tag. Yeah, I'll try it [probably after I finish Stranger Things, but I've moved through it remarkably fast, so it shouldn't be long]. Hilarious and gorgeous is the best combination, XD.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. It's what makes it such a great show.
Thank you so much for tagging me, McKayla. :) I also really like the Anne of Green Gables/ Anne With An E fandom. ;)
ReplyDelete-Quinley
No problem. Yesss, it's such a great fandom!
ReplyDeleteLoved you answers! I feel like we all tested the back of our wardrobes just in case and I find the fact that we all seem to have done it hilarious and kind of adorable. My sister and I were looking at bookshelf classifieds the other day and there was one where we were like 'If that's not taking us to Narnia nothing will'
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteExactly. It is kind of adorable.
Oh, I love that!
I was dying of laughter with the "We're all mad here" gif! The Little Women gif is great, too. Have you seen that version yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found it funny. I thought it was fitting.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, I have, and I loved it. Thanks for the recommendation!
