I read the first Wings of Fire book, and it was really good, but I haven't had the chance to read the rest. Merry Christmas!

If I Was A Fictional Character [Tag]

Image
Hello there! Random Buffy GIF just because.   Sam  did this tag on her blog, and I asked her if I could do it, and she said yes.  This looks like it will be a lot of fun. *rubs hands together gleefully* Share a snippet that includes a description of their appearance: She's flopped out on her bed, furiously typing up a blog post on her laptop. She's tall, and athletic looking with very long legs. She's dressed casually in ripped jeans [she didn't buy them ripped. Her hair is medium-length, wavy and light brown with blonde streaks/highlights. Basically my hair is like hers, only longer. Her favorite feature is her eyes. They're dark brown, and usually hidden behind glasses.  She has a small and wide nose, thin eyebrows, and a huge grin.  She's not sure if she's pretty or not, but she l...

Running Wild in Impractical Outfits Tag

Image
Hello!  Elizabeth  tagged me for this, and I've been super excited about filling it out. Thank you so much! The Rules -Put a link to her blog,  Autumn Ink - Put a link to your post in the comments section of the original post -Tag people if you want to -Have fun with this tag, and feel free to add things, change locations, or whatever you want -The outfits you choose can be from anywhere you like [movies, books, TV shows, real life, etc.], and they can be as practical or as impractical as you want. Choose with as much flagrant disregard or custom for the rules as you choose.  -You have to bring a different fictional character of your choosing to each location. At The Beach Well, if I were at the beach, I'd probably want to wear a swimsuit, wouldn't I?  I'm not really sure what specific type of swimsuit I'd like, though. Probably just something similar to what I have.  This one is just a picture of a model, but I like the style. I would wear something ...

5 Essential Things For A Shippable Romance [In My Opinion]

Image
Hey, everyone! If you don't mind me asking, how has your Valentine's Day been so far? Mine's been awesome. My family and I have been having a Harry Potter movie marathon with lots of snacks [including butterbeer! Which is amazing], so it's been lots of fun. Today's post isn't necessarily tips for writing good, solid, shippable romantic relationships. Instead it's five things that need to happen for me to ship a couple. I think. #1: It Needs Good Dialogue Yes, that's right. To me, dialogue is really important for pretty much every aspect of a book/movie/show/musical/etc, but especially for romances.  For example, a couple with plenty of witty/snarky banter can be lots of fun, because, hey, maybe they aren't super sappy. Maybe they express their love in a different way than the norm. And that's great.....until it starts to sound like they hate each other. There is definitely a difference between playful snark and mean snark, except it seems like s...
