Sorting Mean Girls Characters Into Hogwarts Houses

3....2......1.....Happy Mean Girls day! So, today, in addition to wearing pink and insuring my hair for 10,000 dollars, I decided to make a post that involves sorting these characters into their Hogwarts houses.
I'm just going to assume that you've heard of Harry Potter and, therefore, the Hogwarts houses, but, if you haven't, you can look it up.
Anyway, let's get started, shall we?
Cady Heron: Ravenclaw
I think Cady is a Ravenclaw. I've seen lots of people type her as Slytherin or Gryffindor, but she's got some serious Ravenclaw vibes (and not just because she's super smart). She's very curious, and lots of times she uses logic to figure out her problems. It's a lot more evident in the musical, but Movie Cady also screams Ravenclaw.
Regina George: Slytherin
So, I hate to be that person who says that all Slytherins are villains or vice versa, but there's no way Regina is anything but a Slytherin. She's cunning, ambitious, sneaky, and determined. She's not afraid to use threats to get what she wants. Regina has all of the best and worst qualities of a Slytherin.

Gretchen Wieners: Hufflepuff
Gretchen doesn't seem like your stereotypical Hufflepuff, but, if you think about it, she has a lot of Hufflepuff traits. Gretchen never wanted to be the Queen Bee, she wanted to be Regina's (and, later, Cady's) best friend, and second in command. She's perfectly happy with not having as much power. She just wants to be appreciated as a friend.

Karen Smith: Hufflepuff
Karen was the easiest character to type, because there's no way she's anything but a Hufflepuff. First of all, she's not particularly ambitious, smart, brave, or creative, but she is kind and loyal. Even though she wasn't anywhere close to being in charge, she doesn't really care. Even though she's technically a "mean girl" she doesn't act like one at all.

Janis Ian: Gryffindor
Janis was the hardest character to type because she fits into pretty much every house, except Hufflepuff. I was torn between Gryffindor and Slytherin for her. She does have a lot of Slytherin traits [maybe she's a combo house?] but I think she's a Gryffindor. She's sassy, she's bold, she's rebellious [and, let's be honest here, Gryffindors tend to break a lot of rules], and she's unapologetically herself, which isn't easy. Also, she's super stubborn, like a lot of Gryffindors.

Damian: Hufflepuff
Damian was fairly easy to type. He's a sweet, friendly, and caring guy, and a good friend. He's definitely a Hufflepuff, in addition to being one of the best characters.
Aaron Samuels: Hufflepuff
Aaron is kind of a bland character, but he's nice, and he's hardworking. When Regina describes him, she says that he cares about his mom, his friends, and school. Not to mention, he's nice to Cady, when she's the new girl, and he definitely didn't have to.
Kevin Gnapoor: Gryffindor
Is there any other house that would fit Kevin? He's brave, he's bold, he's honest, and he has a lot of confidence. He's proof that being smart doesn't automatically make you a Ravenclaw. I don't think any other house would fit him.
Random Mean Girls GIFs just because

So, what did you think of this post? Have you seen Mean Girls? Where would you sort these characters?

Comments

  1. Fun idea! I think that all of the characters really match the house that you out them in. I hadn't noticed how many Hufflepuffs there were in this movie.

  2. Thanks.
Yeah. At first you'd think they'd all be Slytherins, but it turns out most of them are Hufflepuffs.

  3. I 100% agree with you on all of these.
