The 30 Song Tag [Take Two]
Hi. So I did this tag back in February, and I decided to do it again. Only this time there's a twist. Instead of just listing 30 songs I tried to pick 30 songs all from musicals. Not like that was really hard. I'm beyond obsessed with my favorite musicals. In fact, I can't remember when I last listened to any of my other playlists. And, if I didn't have an answer to the question, I just picked a random song I like, so you have precisely thirty songs to listen to.
Two things first, though.
One, if you have any questions for my Q&A, be sure to comment them below. I love seeing what questions you guys have.
Two, you can now follow my blog by email. You don't have to, of course. I just personally prefer to follow blogs by email.
Annnnnnnnd, here is a playlist with all of these songs, so you can listen to it while reading this post, and tell me your opinions on them.
Just a quick warning that there is some language in a good portion of these songs. It doesn't bother me, but I just thought I'd let you know.
Alright *cracks knuckles*, let's do this.
Your favorite song?
Okay, so at the moment, it's The World Will Know from Newsies. It's just such a good song, and it makes me want to rebel against something. I always get super emotional listening to it, too.
Your least favorite song?
Do I even have one? I'll just give you guys an awesome song instead: Stop from Mean Girls.
A Song That Makes You Happy?
Dead Girl Walking from Heathers. It's hilarious, which is part of why I love it, but it's also super catchy, and Barrett Wilbert Weed sings most of it, and she has an amazing voice. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to this.
A Song That Makes You Sad?
Words Fail from Dear Evan Hansen. I'm convinced that it's the saddest song ever. I come super close to crying every time I listen to it, which is saying something, because I rarely cry.
A Song That You Often Get Stuck in Your Head?
All of them? Okay, so The Me Inside of Me from Heathers gets stuck in my head so much it's not even funny. Also, The Schuyler Sisters from Hamilton. Because it's catchy.
A Song That Reminds You of Someone?
Ummmm, well, Say My Name from Beetlejuice reminds me of my sister, because we sing it together a lot.
Also, Ex-Wives from Six reminds me of both of my sisters [because we sing it together, not because they're ex-wives].
A Song That Reminds You of Someplace?
More is Always Better from Mean Girls reminds me of a spare bedroom in my house, because I did lots of workouts there while listening to this song. And then I just sat down and listened to it over and over again.
A Song That Reminds You of a Certain Event?
Beautiful from Heathers reminds me of the car ride home, when I got my braces off. Aka when I could actually eat candy again. Yay.
A Song You Know All the Words to?
I know all the words to Big Fun from Heathers. It is my greatest achievement. I mean, I know all the words to pretty much all of these songs, but this one has lots of different people singing.
A Song You Could Dance to?
Oooh, tricky question. Maybe Whose House is This? from Mean Girls. It's very catchy, and seems like a good dancing song. Also, King of New York from Newsies.
A Song That Makes You Fall Asleep?
Uhhhhh, I don't have one. Maybe Fearless from Mean Girls. It's a really good song, but it's so peaceful, so I might be able to fall asleep to that.
A Song From Your Favorite Band?
Someone Gets Hurt from Mean Girls.
A Song From A Band You Hate?
I don't really hate any musicals? And the ones that I'm not a big fan of, I don't listen to. Soooo, I have no idea how to answer this. How about Falsettoland from Falsettos, because it's a good song.
A Song Nobody Would Expect You to Love?
Honestly, any of the songs from Waitress [I'll just say What's Inside and Opening Up because they're my favorites]. It doesn't seem like a musical I would love, but I do. Also, Watch What Happens from Newsies.
A Song That Describes You?
Stupid with Love from Mean Girls, of course.
Just kidding. I think I'd Rather Be Me [also from Mean Girls] describes me pretty well. It's sung by Janis [of course], and it's about being yourself [but not in a cheesy way].
An Underrated Song More People Should Love?
Fight For Me from Heathers. It's such a pretty song, but I never hear people say it's their favorite or anything.
A Song That You Hear Often on the Radio
I think Spotify's on a mission to have me listen to All You Wanna Do from Six. Or, Oh, Biology. Recently, Get Down from Six is playing a lot.
A Song You Wish You Heard on the Radio
I really wish Spotify would play Dead Mom more than it does. It's such a good song.
A Song You Listen to When You're Happy
Uhhh, errr, well, I'm happy a lot. Probably Candy Store from Heathers [does it concern me a little that this song makes me happy? Yes, yes, it does]. I'm not saying that the message is good, but hearing all their voices together is so good, and the music is awesome.
A Song You Listen to When You're Sad
Burn from Hamilton. It's such a good sad song. I could use Words Fail again, but I'm not going to [I'm cheating so much in this tag, and I'm trying not to add to it].
A Song You Listen To When You're Angry?
World Burn from Mean Girls. Again, the title explains it all. If I'm angry, it is extremely satisfying to hear, ''I wanna watch the world burnnnnnnn.'' And, seriously, what is it with Broadway and burning things???? There are so many songs about burning or fires.
A Song You Want to Play. at Your Wedding
None of the Broadway songs I like would really fit at a wedding? Of course, since it's me, I'd probably pick a song I like, so Ladies' Choice from Hairspray because it would be hilarious, and it would be fun to dance to.
A Song You Want to Play at Your Funeral
Uhhhhhh, I honestly don't know. None of the songs I like would fit a funeral. I was super close to using Dead Girl Walking again... I guess I'll just pick a random awesome song again: Bad Idea from Waitress.
A Song That Makes You Laugh
Sexy from Mean Girls. It's the funniest song ever. I totally lost it at, ''I give you sexy corn.''
A Song That You Can Play
Well, I can't play anything, but my vocal range is pretty similar to Barrett Wilbert Weed's, except she's more talented, *rushes to see if there are any songs she does that I haven't put down yet* Well, I can sing the reprise of Dead Girl Walking. I can also sing Home from Beetlejuice [which is great, because it's one of my favorite songs, and I love it].
A Song You Wish You Could Play
I really wish I could sing What's Wrong With Me? because it's amazing, but Ashley Park is a soprano, and I'm an alto, so you can see my problem. Also, Guns and Ships from Hamilton. It's amazing, but I can't rap, sooooooo I've given up on that dream.
A Song From Your Childhood
I wasn't a musical fan during my childhood. Maybe, You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray because it was one of the first musicals I listened to.

Your Favorite Duet
Man, I think I said all of my favorites already. I do like Apex Predator from Mean Girls. Also, Ready Set Not Yet from Beetlejuice. And Seventeen from Heathers.
Your Favorite Song at this Time Last Year
I-well, it wasn't a theater song, that's for sure. Maybe Revenge Party? I love that song.
Well, I broke a lot of rules, and gave you guys way more than 30 songs. Whoops. They're all very good, though.
In a failed attempt to not break all of the rules, I'll actually be nominating people. If you're not nominated, feel free to do it anyways. And you obviously don't have to answer with musical songs. Do it with whatever you like to listen to.
The Nominees
Movie Critic at Movies Meet Their Match
Ivy Miranda at Revealed in Time
Rakayle Hier at A Story Detective
Quinley at Adventure Awaits
Skye Hoffert at Ink Calamities
Christine Smith at Fairy Dust on My Pen
Hamlette at Hamlette's Soliloquy
Andrea at Endless Wonder
Nicole Dust at Legend of a Writer
If you weren't nominated and you want to do this tag, go ahead and steal it. I don't mind.
What did you think of my answers? Did you like these songs?
Thanks for the tag! I like that you used songs from musicals only. I might do the same thing! I liked reading this and listening to the Beetlejuice songs that I hadn't heard.
ReplyDeleteNo problem. Aw, thank you.
ReplyDeleteOoh, yes, they're such good songs.
Thank you for tagging me, McKayla. :) I think my favorite songs of the ones you mentioned are "Dead Mom" and "Say My Name."
ReplyDelete-Quinley
You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteOoh, yes, I love those two.
Thanks for the tag!
