Q&A Answers

It's finally here! The day where I answer all of your awesome questions. To everybody who left questions, thank you so much! In fact, thank you everybody who's reading this. You guys are awesome, and I love interacting with you. Now, onto the questions [with a nice side dose of GIFs]. Eek! I'm so excited.
Quinley's Questions
Who is your favorite fictional villain?
Like, of all time? Man, that's so hard. I love the villains. Villains are the best.
Well, I'm not sure if he's my all time favorite, but I do love Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes. I love how he's just a perfect match for Sherlock, and he's the first one to come to my mind, so that has to mean something, right?
If you could switch bodies with any fictional character who would you switch places with?
Again, there's so many!
One would definitely be Claudia from Warehouse 13. She has great tech skills [and I do not], she can play the guitar, she gets to save the world all the time, and she has the best lines.
And, also, Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because she has Slayer super-strength and fighting skills, and she gets to save the world a lot, too.
We'll stop there or else this really will take all day.
What inspired you to write The Untold Truth? Why did you choose Carla in particular to write about?
Honestly? I really don't know. I usually have a good memory when it comes to stuff like that, but I have no earthly [or, unearthly, for that matter] idea.
Who is your favorite Greek god or goddess?
Ooh, I'm not actually super well-versed in Greek mythology. I know the major gods and goddesses, but it's not one of my areas of expertise. Maybe Athena?
If you could join the Hunters of Artemis would you?
Probably not. I love archery, and I love fighting, and, as you can tell from above, I love the idea of saving the world, but I'm not very good at following rules, so being a part of almost any organization doesn't appeal to me, and I'm too much of a romantic to want to never have a relationship.
Which Greek god or goddess would be your godly parent?
According to the quiz I took, I'm a child of Apollo. He's the god of archery, music and poetry, so that's pretty cool. I'm putting that in my bio.
Would you rather be chaotic neural or chaotic evil?
I'm not sure what this is from, but I'd rather not be evil, thank you very much.
Would you rather be a bard or a ranger?
OKAY, IS THIS FROM THAT SERIES THE RANGER'S APPRENTICE? I swear I'll get around to reading it eventually.
Okay, I'll look them up. Hmm, no, it's not from Ranger's Apprentice. Anyway, I'd rather be a ranger. They spend lots of time in solitude in nature, so that'd probably appeal to me.
You come across a ghost, what do you do?
Who ya gonna call?

GHOSTBUSTERS! My sister Amber and I actually made a parody song called Goatbusters. It is as weird as it sounds. But what I'd actually do? I don't know. I guess it depends on if the ghost was good or bad. I'm not great at planning. If it was good, I'd try and talk to it. If not, I'd fight it, I guess.
If you had to summon Beetlejuice would you?
No? Maybe. Hopefully not. Unless somebody's life depended on it. In that case I would.
What is your favorite type of character to write?
Complex ones. That's kind of a horrible answer, but I love writing characters who are morally grey, or who are more that what they seem.
What is your least favorite type of character to write?
Cruel authority figures. Those types always make me the most mad. See, I have some authority issues, and I HATE characters who are extremely cruel, but not entertaining.
Have any songs inspired your writing?
I don't think so? I've found songs that remind me of specific scenes, but I don't think the idea came from a song.
What is your favorite type of character to act as?
Weird and/or sarcastic characters [because they all remind me of myself], or super dumb, airheaded characters.
What is your least favorite type of character to act as?
I don't know......just normal, everyday characters, maybe?
If your novel was going to be a movie which of your characters would you act as?
Mmmm, none of them? I fancasted the whole thing, and I'm not in it, so I'll just visit the set, and fangirl over all the actors I chose.
What's your favorite part of Halloween?
Dressing up as fictional characters. #fangirl.
Do you have a favorite candy?
I love candy, in general, but I do really love York's. Mint flavors are the best.
What's your favorite Halloween-themed book or movie?
Hmmm, I do really love Beetlejuice. And Hocus Pocus. And The Addams Family.
Andrea's Questions
What's the best book you've read lately?
Oh, look, another chance for me to fangirl about Lovely War.
Seriously, though, this book is the best. It's nearly five hundred pages, and I finished it in two days. You all should read it. I'm planning to make a review post, if anyone's interested.
Are you currently writing anything? If so, what is it about?
My current big project is about a girl named Juliette who dies, and then gets brought back to life by a group of fairies [the specific species of fairies was created by myself, but there's a bit of traditional lore], and then people start getting murdered. This type of fairy can only be murdered by fairies in their same tribe, which means there's a murderer on the loose. Juliette manifests the ability to communicate with and see the dead-----an ability that causes almost everyone who has it to turn evil-----so she has to be mentored by Theodora, who doesn't speak, and is highly eccentric. Also, there will be vampires.
I'm also working on a side-project, because I needed a little break, which is an incredibly shippy/wish-fufilment fanfiction. It started off small, but now I'm even more attached to these precious charries now, and that story has become my newest obsession.
If you want to know more about either of these, just tell me in the comments.
Would you rather have a fictional character come into the real world and meet you, or go into the fictional world yourself?
Go into the fictional world myself. My life is kinda boring. Who's up for an adventure?
Do you prefer cookies or cake?
Cookie cake? Or does that not count? Probably cake, if I had to choose.
MC's Questions:
If you had a time travel machine, where and when would you go?
I'd go back in time, and catch all of the criminals of the world who weren't caught. Ooh, that'd actually make an interesting book series, now that I think about it.
What is your biggest inspiration for writing?
Definitely other stories. There have been millions of great movies/shows/books that have inspired my writing.
What is your favorite book or movie that you've read and watched this year?
Gosh, that's hard. For books....maybe The Miseducation of Cameron Post?
And for movies, uh, maybe Mean Girls?
I also don't really remember some of the things I read and watched earlier this year, but shhh.
What is a book or movie that EVERYONE needs to read or see?
Maybe The Breakfast Club? That movie's story has stayed with me for a long time, and I adore it, and it has a super great message without being preachy, and everyone should see it. Preferably as a teen, but if you're an adult, see it anyways.
Movies or music [you asked me this one, so now it's your turn!]?
Why do I ask such hard questions? XD. Um, probably movies by just a teeny, tiny bit. It's super close, though.
Skye's Questions
What made you get into martial arts?
Oh, I'm sure it was some character from a movie or show, because I love fight scenes. It was probably the MCU, or, more specifically, Black Widow that made me start getting into it seriously.
Favorite movie?
Just one? That's way too hard! Some of my favs are Mean Girls, the Jumanji movies, Ocean's 11, pretty much any MCU movie, a fair amount of Disney movies [especially Tangled], Beetlejuice, Heathers, Die Hard, Legally Blonde, The Princess Bride, Wonder Woman, The Matrix, and we'll stop there before this takes too long.
Favorite book?
The Reader, the Percy Jackson series, the Harry Potter series, The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls [my favorite stand-alone book of all time], To all The Boys I've Loved Before, Lovely War, Dorothy Must Die series, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Wings of Fire, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and we'll stop there.
Aaaaaand that's a wrap. Man, this took way longer than I thought it would. I hope you all enjoyed it. Here's a random Parks and Rec GIF, because I have no idea how else to end this post.

  1. I agree with you that dressing up as fictional characters is the best part of Halloween. :D

to answer your questions about my questions the bard and ranger and chaotic neutral and chaotic evil questions were all Dungeons and Dragons inspired, I have actually never read Ranger's Apprentice so I can't say I was inspired by it. ;)

I loved reading your answers to my questions,

  2. Yes. It's so much fun.
Ahhh, I see. I've just heard lots of people talk about that book, and it has the word ranger in the title, so I just assumed that was what it was from.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  3. Love that Black Widow had that effect on you. Great choices, the Ocean movies are too good.
And Ooo your writing about faeries, murder, and vampires! Yessss!!

  4. Haha, fictional characters have a huge impact on me.
    Yes, they're the best!
I'm glad you like the idea! Maybe I'll make a post about it. Idk. We'll see.

  6. This was fun to read! Oh yeah, Moriarty is so evil and such a good villain (I mean, he is good at being a villain). What is you favorite version of him?

I've actually never seen The Breakfast Club (besides parts from the end in Pitch Perfect). I guess I should!

  7. Exactly. Ooh, I'm not sure. I do like him in the original Sherlock Holmes stories. I've seen part of the BBC show, and I mayyyyy have seen part of the 2009 version, but they were both a long time ago.
Yes! It's so good. I mean, it is rated R for language, but it's just such a good movie.

  8. I always hate the villain of any book or movie or tv show. I guess I just don't get why people like them. Maybe villains are made for people to love to hate?

I'm still undecided about characters that are morally grey but probably because I haven't read any book with such character. I'm so used to the good versus evil characters, it's hard adjust my mind sometimes.

I like weird/sarcastic character, mostly sarcastic - for some reason, they always makes me laugh. I think I usually think of them as snarky, which means the same as sarcastic, right?

    Have a lovely day.

  9. Maybe. That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure there's some type of psychological reason why some people like villains and some don't. It's very interesting.
Yes, I like morally grey characters because I find them interesting, but it's obviously not the same for everyone.
Me too. Sarcasm always makes me laugh.
Pretty much. I haven't noticed any difference.
    Thank you. You too.
