Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Four Review
Hey, guys. Today I will be reviewing.......*drumroll* season four of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I'm just assuming that you guys already know what this show is about and who the cast is, so I won't include those details.
My Thoughts: So, this season isn't quite as good as season two or three, but I still really liked it. There were some great new characters, and it was a good season overall.
What I Liked:
-The characters
Of course I loved all of the usual character. Oz, Angel, and Cordelia weren't in this season, but Anya and Spike were in more episodes, and Riley and Tara were introduced.
I really like Anya. I think she's hilarious. I also really love Spike. He's awesome, and he has awesome chemistry with the rest of the characters.
And Tara! She's such a sweet, adorable cinnamon roll! She's amazing.
I'm not very fond of Riley, but he's fine. I don't hate him or anything. He does kinda annoy me, though.
-The Buffy-ness. I don't really have another way to describe it. By Buffyness I mean, that it combines a bunch of different genres in a fun way.
I mean, how many other shows have dialogue like this? Not many, that's for sure.
-Some of my favorite episodes were Hush, Pangs, Fear, Itself, The Freshman, Something Blue, A New Man, This Year's Girl, Who Are You?, Superstar, New Moon Rising, and Restless.
-Also, can we take a minute and appreciate how Joss mixes up genres so much? Take, Hush for example. It's basically a horror episode, and barely has any dialogue. That's impressive.
-FAITH. RETURNED.
I mean, it was for only two episodes, but still. FAITH. I really like Faith. I'm not really sure why, but I do. She's a good character. And those two episodes were amazing, oh my gosh.
-Twillow
Buffy does relationships really well, and I think one of the best is Tara and Willow's relationship. They have such good chemistry, and it's just such a sweet relationship. I really, really loved Willow with Oz, and I wasn't sure they'd be able to top it, but I think they did. I think because they didn't start out as a couple that gave more time for them to develop feelings for each other. Maybe? I'm doing a very bad job of explaining it.
EEK! *explodes because Tara's too sweet*
I can only strive to have any of my characters have a relationship even half as well-written as theirs is.
What I Disliked
Okay, but did any of us like Adam? He's just kind of boring as a villain. I think that, in this season, the weekly villains were better than he was. He was just very meh and blah.
And, also, they didn't really take Oz off the show in a good way. It felt kind of rushed. He deserved better.
That was pretty much it, though. It was a good, solid season, and I really liked most of it. I think Season Two and Season Three were better, but it was still good. I'd definitely recommend it. I mean, you should probably watch the first three seasons before this one, but it's awesome!
Basically, Buffy is nearly flawless, and few shows will ever top the first few seasons.
So, have you watched Buffy? What did you think of this season?
Spike was definitely the highlight of this season for me. Willow and Oz broke my heart, but I like Tara. Adam was probably the worst villian we've had. I dislike Riley a lot. XD
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! He's the best. Yesss, it was SO SAD. I was heartbroken for days. Tara's really sweet, so that made me like her.
ReplyDeleteOh, for sure. Ugh, he is kind of annoying. Buffy could definitely have chosen someone better.
