February Recap

Can you believe February is over already? I know it's a short month, but it felt like it zoomed by way too quickly. Anyway, here's my monthly recap.
Books I Read in February:

How is it that I'd never read this book before now? I was familiar with the story, but still. The dialogue is brilliant, the characters are amazing, the whole story is amazing. This just might be one of my favorite books of all time now.
This might be another new favorite, too. It's a fairytale retelling, and, oh my word, I looooveeee it. It's so well-written and intriguing, and I love all of the main characters, and it's just so interesting. I had no idea I needed a fantasy read this badly, XD.

So, this one I wouldn't rate as high as the last two, but it's really good. It's all about theater, and the MC is a stage manager instead of an actor, which was neat to read about. And the romance was swoon-worthy, so I definitely enjoyed this one.

Apparently I really didn't like these books before, and I have no idea why, because they're actually pretty good. They aren't as well-written as some of the other books on here, but they make for a good easy read. And look how pretty the covers are!
Movies/Shows I Watched in February:

Yup, my family and I had a Harry Potter movie marathon, and, yes, it was awesome. These are great adaptations, and the casting is perfect.

This one my sister picked for family movie night, so I've seen it before. I don't like it quite as much as, say, Ocean's 11, but it's a fun movie, and the supporting cast all do a particularly great job.

My other sister picked this one for family movie night. Again, I've seen it before, so I know the plot, but I think it's a really fun movie.

I watched this when I had a cold one day, and I enjoyed it. Grigg was definitely my favorite, but I liked everybody, and all the discussions about Jane Austen's novels and characters.
Also, quick question here for anyone who's seen the movie: Which Austen character is everyone's counterpart? Jocelyn is obviously Emma, and Allegra is obviously Marianne, and I'm pretty sure Sylvia's supposed to be Fanny Price, but what about everyone else? My theory is that they have similarities to a character from the book they picked, which would make Prudie Anne Elliot. I have no idea about Grigg or Bernadette.

I mostly just rewatched random episodes. The nice thing about rewatching Glee is that you can find more songs that you'd never noticed before.

Seasons Two and Three.
It really is hilarious! I especially love the paintball episodes. The Glee parody was pretty great, too [and it's even funnier if you've actually seen Glee].

I rewatched a few episodes of this amazing show this month, which was great. It really is a fantastic show.

Seasons 6 and 7
I finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer this month. It was a very emotional day. I liked the seventh season, and the way they ended things. Also, Andrew. He was a great addition to the Scooby Gang.
Season Five
Season One, or at least the few episodes they have out now. It's really good, and absolutely hilarious.
Also, lots of WandaVision. I love it so much!

Music of February
-Basically, lots of Taylor Swift and Glee. I need to share my Glee playlist with you guys.
Events of February
-On Valentine's Day my family and I had a Harry Potter movie marathon with snacks [including butterbeer, which I'd never tried, but is absolutely incredible].
-Bowling
I hadn't been bowling in forever, and I think I was pretty good, once I got going. Also, my family always uses fictional characters names to enter into the machine [I'm not explaining this very well, but, if you've gone bowling, you know what I mean, right?], instead of our own. This time we entered the names of Community characters [I was Annie, btw].
-Driving an hour to get fast food. It was definitely worth it.
-I finished writing a thing!
Yes, I'm just saying thing because it's not long enough to be a book, but not short enough to be a short story. I don't think this is one I'll be publish it, but maybe I'll put it somewhere online, so I can get some feedback.
So, that was fun.
-Usual hobbies, but those don't really need explanations.
So, how was your February?

Comments

  1. Pride and Prejudice! One of my all time favorites! It's just so funny, which I wasn't expecting. The best parts of The Jane Austen Book Club are Grigg and trying to figure out who everyone is! My sister and I finally came to the conclusion that everyone is everyone, lol! Actually, I think you're really close! We were thinking that Sylvia was Anne Elliot, but I see how she can be Fanny, too! Prudie is like both Anne and Fanny, too in different ways. Bernadette was Elizabeth Bennet which leaves Grigg as Catherine Morland? I don't know.

That Harry Potter marathon sounds amazing! Bowling is so fun, and I totally get what you mean by using fictional characters for the names! Why has my family never thought of that? One time, a guy working at a bowling alley that we went to just started calling us random names so we've used those ever since.

  2. Yes! I love it so much! It's such a good book.
"Everyone is everyone." Sounds about right.
Yeah, Persuasion is one of the ones that I haven't read yet, so Sylvia could definitely be Anne Elliot. Yeah, Prudie and Fanny do have some traits in common, from what I've read of Mansfield Park so far.
It was! Movie marathons are the best.
Oh, that's hilarious. That's how I got so many of my nicknames. People just started calling me that, and I just went with it, XD.

  3. February went by so quickly. I started off very productive and on top of things and then I'm not sure what happened after that. Sounds like you had a good February though!

I just bought Entwined recently and I was planning on reading it this month. I'd never heard of it before so it's funny that you mentioned it (for me at least).

  4. It did. And it was a pretty good month for me.
Really? It's a great book (in my opinion at least). I'd heard of it before, but only from a few people.

  5. Congrats on finishing a writing thing. I need to do that this month.
Looks like you read a lot of good books.
Oh and you finished Buffy, I stopped somewhere in season 6 I'll get back to it at some point. I really do want to finish it.
Glad you had a good month!

  6. Thanks! I love your writing so I'd be very excited to read anything you finish.
I did! I enjoyed pretty much everything I read.
Yeah, it was really good. I actually liked the seventh season better than the sixth, so you might, too.
I did. Hope your month was good, too.

  7. Finishing projects is hard (especially if you keep coming up with new ideas while trying to finish the project you started. That happens to me a lot).
Yes, those months are the best.
Yeah, it's not as good as the earlier seasons, but it's still good.

  8. What a coincidence! I happen to be reading Pride and Prejuduce currently, and It looks just like that one.
