2021 Recap

Image
I can't believe that 2021's over. It seems like the year has gone by so fast. I'm both excited and nervous for 2022. 2021 was a pretty good year, I think. It was definitely better than 2020. Movie Review: Happiest Season

Image
Hello! I wanted to do something Christmas-y, so what would be better than reviewing this movie?  Director: Clea DuVall Writers: Clea DuVall, Mary Holland Cast: Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Alison Brie, Mary Steenburgen, Victor Garber, Mary Holland, Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Burl Moseley Summary [taken from IMDB]: A young woman with a plan to propose to her girlfriend while at her family's annual party discovers that her partner hasn't come out to her conservative parents. My Thoughts:  Happiest Season is certainly not a perfect Christmas movie. It has its flaws, but, if you're looking for an entertaining holiday rom-com......this is miles ahead of your typical Hallmark movie. Also, we need more LGBTQ+ Christmas movies. The cast is absolute perfection! All of them do a great job, and have good chemistry, plus they just fit their roles so well. The characters are also pretty great----some are more likable than others, but all of them are interesting. Jane and John are def

Book and Movie Comparison: P.S I Still Love You

Image
Greetings! I just finished the second book in my To All the Boys I've Loved Before re-read, and now it's time to share my thoughts about it. Summary [taken from Goodreads]: Lara-Jean and Peter were just pretending. Until they weren't. Now Lara-Jean has to learn what it's like to be in a real-life relationship---not a make-believe one. But when another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean's feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?  My Thoughts: P.S I Still Love You is a fine book overall. It's not perfect, and it's not as good as the first one, but it's still a decent book, and I did enjoy reading it. What I Liked: -The cover I know, I know, don't judge a book by its cover, but this cover is very pretty.  -Kitty! Kitty continues to be an absolute gem. Like when she suggests making the Valentine's Day cakes look all bloody.  -I also really liked John Ambrose McClaren. I thought he was really sweet, and

To All the Boys I've Loved Before Book and Movie Comparison

Image
Hello! I haven't done a book review in awhile, and I decided to do a comparison between the To All the Boys Before book [which I've read maybe once or twice] and the movie [which I've never seen].  I'll be doing these for the rest of the series as I keep re-reading the books and watching the movies. Without further adiu, let's get started. Summary: To All the Boys I've Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, a girl who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box underneath her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all of her crushes from the past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh.  As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all. What I Liked:  -The

November Recap

How is it December? That seems insane to me. It's almost 2022, and I don't understand how and why time has been going by so fast.  With that being said, let's get on with the recap.  Books I Read In November Movies/TV Shows I Watched In November I finally finished Pretty Little Liars, and, wow, it was a wild ride.  I watched season six and part of season seven. I basically binged all the seasons, and I really liked it! It's not the type of thing I would usually watch, but i enjoyed it [and the costumes? Oh my word, they were amazing]. Events of November -Thanksgiving! Several family members got to visit our house on Thanksgiving, and it was a really fun day. I also got a five-day weekend, which was great.  -We also decorated the Christmas tree this month just after Thanksgiving, and that was also really fun. -I got a little bit of Christmas planning done. -I also got to go to a bookstore, which was great. -I started editing one of my books, and finished up a novella I
