January Recap

The first month of the new year is over. It was a pretty good month for me. How was it for you?
What I Read in January

What I Watched in January

I watched Season One of both the reboot and original Charmed, and, yes, I have a comparison post coming up. I also re-watched a little Buffy and some Miss Fisher with my mom and sister.

What I Did in January
-I finished the first round of edits for my book! Huzzah! It was a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it, and now I'm one step closer to publishing it!
-My parents got to go on a vacation, which meant that my sisters and I had to take care of the house alone for a few days. We didn't burn the house down, so I think we did a pretty good job.
-I also got to do lots of martial arts this month. It's such a fun class and I'm really happy to be able to do it.
-Back in December, my family's dog, Titan, and the neighbor's dog had puppies, and we got to pick out one to keep. His name is Rocky and he's an adorable little fuzzball with a lot of energy.
-I started a book club [hence the re-read of The Raven Boys]. It's been a fun time so far.
How I'm Doing on My New Year's Resolutions
-Take better care of myself
Ehhh.....kind of. I've been wanting to do a better job of caring for both my physical and mental health. I've done a good job with exercising this month and I was doing really well at getting a good amount of sleep for the first half of the month....and then I kind of got off-track. I could definitely do a better job taking care of my mental health, though. So I'll give myself a half-point for this.
Get more into reading and writing poetry
Another half-point, I think. I didn't read any poetry, but I wrote more poems than I have in a long time.
Read More Books of Different Genres
I definitely did this. This month I read two sci-fi YAs, one historical/historical fantasy YA, an adult fantasy, an adult.....contemporary I guess, a historical middle grade, a nonfiction and two comic books.
--Regularly Interact With More Bloggers
Eh, not really.
-Try More Extracurriculars
There's not a lot I can sign up for in January, but I did start a book club and have continued with martial arts.
-Publish A Book
Not yet, but working on it.
Let's chat. How was your January? Did you do anything fun or exciting? Best book you read this month?

  3. Glad you've had a good January! I feel like I missed it. My sister and were like we haven't been doing anything lately we should go outside and read on the grass or something and then we both remembered it's the middle of winter, in Canada. So if that's not a sign of how present I've been this month I don't know what does XD Not that it's been a complete waste I just haven't realized it's passed and I'm like what happened?
Love Aliens! What did you think of it? I've only seen the first one so far. It's funny I've been wanting to watch Alien vs Predator a lot lately and then combine that with the fact I'm currently watching Pride and Prejudice while commenting lol.
