What I Got for Christmas 2022

Image
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas [or Hannukkah or Kwansa or whatever else you celebrate]. I had a cold on Christmas, but it was a good day. I thought I'd share some of the things I got for Christmas. This post isn't made with the intention to brag, but just to share the things that I'm excited about. I know I'm very lucky to have received so many great things, and I'm very grateful for everything I got. With that being said, let's get into the post.  I'll start with what I got in my stocking. Even though my siblings and I have all known that Santa isn't real for several years now, our parents still like to give us a few small gifts in our stockings.  First up is this adorable little mouse plushie. He's Christmas-themed and has the most gorgeous eyes. I named him Mistletoe, because, well, it just seemed to fit.  I also got this book [it's called Reflections on Healing]. Rachel is one of my favorite YouTubers and I especially love

My Favorite Glee Christmas Songs

Image
Hello! So, since it's only a few days before Christmas, I wanted to do something really easy, so I'll be listing my favorite Christmas songs------but not just any Christmas songs. I'll be listing my favorite Christmas songs from Glee. #1: Baby, It's Cold Outside Their voices sound so good together! Yes, the song is super creepy, but, given that this is such a good version, I've elected to overlook that part. Plus, it's Klaine and I love them. I don't know much about the technicality of music, so I'm just going to say that I love this song and move on. #2: I'll Be Home for Christmas Technically this is from Lea's Christmas album, so it's not really a Glee song, but both she and Jonathan Groff were on Glee and it's a lesser-known version, so it counts. Again, their voices just sound really nice together, and it's a more upbeat version of this song, which I like. #3: Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree It's just a fun, classic son

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover

Hello!  So, today's post will be a little different. I'll still be talking about books, but I'll be sharing some tips and kind of a personal anecdote as well.  Let's go back in time a few years to me in eighth grade. I read just as much then-----if not more, as I do now, but the types of books I read were very limited. I pretty much exclusively read middle grade sci-fi and fantasy and scoffed at the idea of branching out. Classics? Ew, those are old, boring books that are too hard to read. Romance? No way, I'm too cool for that sappy stuff. Nonfiction? Boring. I even completely discredited the whole YA genre. For some reason I thought ALL of the books in one genre were bad. Yes, I was an extremely judgmental eighth grader.  And then.......I found some YA books that I liked. So I assumed that it was still only the speculative fiction that I liked. And then I found a good romance book and a classic that I liked and even some really good nonfiction. Basically, I'm

The Christmas Tag

Image
Hello! Since it's December now, I thought it'd be the perfect time to do this tag that I found on  Loren's  blog.  -The Rules -Thank the person who nominated you [I wasn't really nominated but thanks Loren!] -add the picture in your blog -Answer the ten questions -Tag at least three other bloggers [I tag  Quinley ,  Skye , and  Hailey ] -Add a link to the original post [ here's the link ] The Questions What's your favorite thing about Christmas? Probably the lights and decorations. I love decorating the Christmas tree and looking at all the pretty lights. Christmas movies are nice, too. What's your favorite Christmas memory? Taking a walk with my family and looking at all the Christmas lights in our neighborhood when I was maybe 7 or 8. Also, watching Home Alone for the first time when I was around the same age. And also posing with the Christmas decorations in store windows when I was a little older [maybe 10 or 11]. Are there special traditions your famil

November Recap

Hey everyone! I genuinely cannot believe that it's almost the end of 2022. It feels like the year just started. Time is going by too fast. Help. What I Read In November What I Watched in November Seasons Two and Three and a bit of Season Four What I Did in November -One of my friends came up to visit me and my sisters this month and it was so much to have her visit.  -Thanksgiving. It was a pretty fun day and I loved having the week off of school.  -Martial arts. Not any different than usual, but it's been happening. I also joined a pre-martial arts yoga class, which has also been fun. -Writing! I'm still working on my WIP and I think it's been going well. I also joined a local writers group that meets monthly and that was fun.  -Skateboarding. I've been trying to do this more often and it's been really fun and I think I'm improving.  -Art! I did a ton of art when I was younger, but I kind of fell out of the habit of it, but lately I've been doing it a
