Hiiii everyone! I promise that I'm not just going to re-hash tags that I did last year. I actually had a different post planned, but it's taking a bit longer than I originally planned to write it, so I thought this would be a nice filler post. I'm interested to see how my tastes have changed over the last year. I'm not going to be tagging anyone because I think most of you have already done it, but, if you'd like to do it again, you have my full permission to.
The Rules
-List five swoonworthy characters and describe why you find them swoonworthy in no more than five sentences.
I'm going to be following in Hailey's footsteps and including my favorite scenes with said characters just for fun. Alrighty, now let's get into it!
#1: Rupert Giles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
If you remember last year's post, you'll know this isn't the first time I've included a Buffy character.....hehe, but, anyway, back to Giles. He's intelligent, polite and protective. He has a great sense of humor (British humor for the win, y'all), a kind smile and an amazing singing voice. He's British, he wears glasses, he's a librarian, and, while he's mostly serious, he can also be very silly and goofy. Really I think he's the total package and I don't see what's not to love.
This one is technically an edit, buuuut it is my favorite Giles scene and one of my favorite BTVS scenes of all time.
Now, I couldn't choose just one video so this one is a lil compilation that I found. I think it's hilarious.
#2: Emily Prentiss, Criminal Minds
I'll be honest and say that I was a little hesitant about a new main character replacing Elle Greenaway (who I love), but that quickly changed and I fell in love with Emily as soon as I saw her. There's so much to love about her: she's highly intelligent (she speaks seven languages, guys!), as well as being very driven and determined----she knows what she wants out of life. She may seem a little cold at first but she's super protective and loyal and she would do anything for her team. She's badass but compassionate, and I love her dry sense of humor. She's stunningly beautiful with a gorgeous smile, and she loves cats!
Now, since Criminal Minds is such a long-running show, there are a LOT of scenes to choose from so I'll go with another compilation and recommend this video.
#3: Sam Winchester, Supernatural
I know that Dean is the more popular choice (and, don't get me wrong, Jensen Ackles is a good-looking guy), but I tend to prefer Sam. He's bookish, nerdy and generally sweet and soft-spoken (and, if it's not clear by now, I love me a nerd). He's generally quiet and steady and loyal but he'll fight you if you hurt his friends. He has a big heart, a beautiful smile and kind eyes. While he's not as quick to crack jokes as his brother, he can be pretty funny when he wants to be.
Since Supernatural has been running for a long time and Sam is one of the main characters, there are a lotttt of scenes to choose from but I really like this one.
#4: Rosa Diaz, Brooklyn 99
To be honest, I'm convinced that everyone who's ever watched Brooklyn 99 is at least a little bit in love with Rosa (or maybe that's just me? Anyway). First of all, she's a major badass with a million ways to kill you, and, sue me if you want but I think that's hot. She's intelligent, sarcastic and talented. She may have a gruff demeanor but, if she trusts you, she's very loyal and will always have your back. She's also gorgeous with a beautiful smile.
Again, there are a lotttt of Rosa videos but I adore this one.
#5: Cordelia Foxx, American Horror Story: Coven
Say what you want about AHS but it has so many swoon-worthy characters, so it was hard to pick one, but, at the end of the day, I have to go with Cordelia. As the headmistress of an academy for witches, she's very intelligent, wise and a skilled leader, even though she lacks confidence. Cordelia is kind and compassionate but don't mess with her or her students (she is a witch, after all). She always sees the best in people and she has a very nurturing personality. She's also very determined and brave-----always willing to fight for what's right and she'll never give up.
Now, there are plenty of great Cordelia vids but this one is my favorite.
Well, this was a fun (and interesting) tag to do again! I know that people's taste in fictional characters don't determine what they're like as a person, but I find this very.....psychologically interesting. Do I have a type? Maybe. I can tell that I appreciate intelligence and a mix of strength and gentleness------plus a weakness for beautiful eyes and smiles, and, of course, I love characters who could kill me.
So, that's all for today. Are you familiar with any of these characters? Do we share any fictional crushes? Was this fun to read? Really, any thoughts are appreciated because I love yapping about fictional characters, hehe.
I really enjoyed reading this! I was thinking of doing this Tag again myself, but I was a bit hesitant 😅 I agree that these types of posts are psychologically interesting! I noticed that this time you included both male and female characters, whereas last year it was only women. Also (something I noticed with my character choices as well), it seems like we have different types/preferences depending on gender. For example, one might consider a strong, badass female character swoon-worthy, but then prefer guys who are goofy with a gentler side. I hope that makes some sense...
Hehe, it's a fun tag but it's definitely a little awkward.... Well, last year I was watching a lot of female-dominated shows, whereas now the shows I watch have more of a mix of both genders. Yes, that makes perfect sense to me, I definitely have a different type depending on gender.
Hi, again. Basically I’m going to start doing a recap of each month. It’s popular among the blogging community. So, let’s see how August went. Posts Made in August Yeah, so there were quite a few made in August. My favorites were all of the chapters of my fanfic, doing my Q&A and answering all the awesome questions Diamond gave me. My most popular post this month was the answers to my Q&A Books Read In August Yeah, so I actually only read one book this month. Ideally, I would have read more but I enjoyed this one. 5/5 stars. It was very exciting and intriguing. Now, if only I could find the next two books in the series…… Best and Worst Book Read This Month Like I said earlier I only read one book so that’s my favorite. Movies & TV Shows Watched This Month Great movie, good music, way better plot than the second one. There were still some inconsistencies but overall it was very good. 4.5/5 stars. Hilarious movie. I mean, it is a comedy so it’s n
So, um, long time no see, right? I really did mean to write more blog posts and I don't really have a good excuse besides ''whoops.'' I've been feeling uninspired when it comes to blogging and I've been busy with other projects *cough* binge-watching Criminal Minds. Buuuuuut I'm back now and what better way to come back than with a tag? Yes, I know I do a lot of tags. Work with me here. Especially a tag about one of my favorite things ever: fandoms! The Questions What's the first fandom that you remember joining? Harry Potter! I don't like JK Rowling as a person (we don't support transphobia here, folks), but those books were my entire childhood. I read and re-read the books, watched all the movies, played Harry Potter with my siblings......all that good stuff. What's the newest fandom you've come to enjoy? Welllllll......lately I've been absolutely obsessed with Hazbin Hotel ! When I say obsessed, I mean obsessively listening
Greetings, friends! So, June is Pride Month, and yet I haven't done any posts on it yet. I have one that's about writing LGBTQIA+ characters well, but that's sort of long and involved, so I'm starting with this. This isn't really in any specific order, and they vary in genre quite a bit, so some books may appeal to you, and some might not. OK, onto the actual post. Disclaimer: All summaries are taken from Goodreads. #1: These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling Summary: Hannah's a witch, but not the kind you're thinking of. She's the real deal, an Elemental with the power to control fire, earth, water, and air. But even though she lives in Salem, Massachusetts, her magic is a secret she has to keep to herself. If she's ever caught using it in front of a Reg [read: non-witch], she could lose it. For good. So, Hannah spends most of her time avoiding her ex-girlfriend [and fellow Elemental Witch], Veronica, hanging out with her best friend, and
