Book Review: I Kissed Shara Wheeler

Image
Hi! I thought it was time for another book review and I Kissed Shara Wheeler was a recent read, so here are my thoughts on it. Author: Casey McQuiston Genre: YA, contemporary, romance Summary: Chloe Green is so close to winning. After her moms moved her from SoCal to Alabama for high school, she's spent the past four years dodging gossipy classmates and a puritanical administration at Willowgrove Christian Academy. The thing that's kept her going: winning valedictorian. Her only rival: prom queen Shara Wheeler, the principal's perfect progeny.  But a month before graduation, Shara kisses Chloe and vanishes.  On a furious hunt for answers, Chloe discovers she's not the only one who Shara kissed. There's also Smith, Shara's longtime quarterback sweetheart, and Rory, Shara's bad boy neighbor with a crush. The three have nothing in common except for Shara and the annoying cryptic notes she left behind, but together they must untangle Shara's trail of clues ...

3-Year-Blogoversary Q&A

Image
Hi!  So, I was going to do a Q&A video, but the lighting was really terrible and it's going to be cloudy/rainy for the rest of the week, and I don't want to get this up too late. I'll do a video at some point, I promise. So! Let's get started. Skye's Questions What's something you really want to do this spring? I'd love to do some hiking this spring! I haven't gone hiking in about a year, and I'd love to go again and try out some new trails. I'd also love to do some more painting, since it's something I think is really fun. Favorite season? I don't think I have a concrete favorite season. I think of a reason for one, and then I change my mind and it's another. Maybe fall? I love fall weather, and my birthday and Halloween are both in fall. Favorite trope? I adore the found family trope! There's something so fun about characters with wildly contrasting personalities finding families with each other. Also, I love slow burn roman...

What Aesthetics Buffy Characters Would Have in 2022

Image
Hello! So, track season just finished, and I have a lot more free time, which means I've been getting some weird ideas, so I thought, what type of aesthetics would Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters have if the show was set in 2022. The aesthetics I chose for them are based off of the characters style, as well as their personality. With that being said, let's get into it. Buffy: Girl Next Door Buffy was actually surprisingly hard for me to find an aesthetic for. I was looking for a style that was feminine, but also a little more casual than Cordelia's and less cutesey than Dawn. I think something like the girl-next-door style would look great on her. I think it would also help with the ''normal girl who's actually a vampire slayer'' vibe.  Willow: Light Academia/Witchy Academia Let's be real, we all knew Willow would have one of the academia aesthetics. I think that a mix between Light Academia and Witchy Academia fits her best. I think that early ...

Honestea Tag

Image
Hi everyone! Skye tagged me for this.  This is gonna be super cringey, but hopefully in a fun way.  The Rules -No lies allowed. If the answer is too shameful, use a GIF instead.  -There are optional bonus questions but they're not for the faint of heart -If you complete the tag having answered every question + the bonus additions [no GIFS used] you are dubbed a certified tea chugger, and you deserve a badge to show the world that you are not afraid of a steaming hot cup of TRUTH. Tag at least one other person [a tea party with just one is not very fun, trust me]. Untagged persons are more than likely to fill it out as well [nothing cooler than crashing a tea party]. The Questions What is a 'bad' [generally disliked] movie that most people hate but you love? Well, it's not a movie, but I really like Glee.  And, yes, I am aware that it has many problematic bits and there are so many plot holes, but I love it [and I think that it's not as bad as people make it sou...

April Recap

Image
I can't believe that April is already over! That's crazy! Anyway, here's my recap.  What I Read In April What I Watched in April Seasons Four and Five Season Four What I Did in April Honestly, April felt like a blur. I was super busy.  -I was mostly busy with track. We have practice for about two hours Monday through Thursday, and then we usually have a meet [which can last up to eight hours-ish] on Friday or Saturday or both. It's fun, but definitely means I have less time for blogging.  -I was also super busy with school.  -Plus, my family also has a puppy so I spent a lot of time looking after him.  -I also got to do some martial arts this month, and that's been fun.  -And I've gotten in some writing. It's not going amazingly, but at least I'm writing. -I also got sick this month, which was not fun, but it's over now, so yay.  So, that was my month.  How was your April?

My YouTube Recommendations

'Ello everyone! So, I wanted to do an easy post today, so I'll just be talking about a few of my favorite YouTubers and why I like them and whether I think you should watch them or not.  So, let's get started. Sarah Z Her Best Videos [in my opinion]: What Went Wrong With Dear Evan Hansen, Fandom's Biggest Controversies: The Story of Proshippers vs Antishippers, Tumblr's Greatest Conspiracy: The Johnlock Conspiracy, The Rise and Fall of Teen Dystopias, Everyone Is Into Twilight Again, I'm Not Like Other Girls [honestly, I could keep going. Please check out her channel. Her videos are great].  Why I Like Her Videos: What I love the most about Sarah's channel is her intelligent, nuanced way of presenting her points and her opinions. She doesn't just make fun of things. She analyzes them. Even if I don't agree with everything she says, I respect her viewpoint and see where she's coming from. This might sound a bit weird, but I also just love watchin...
